Hello y'all!
Another quick update- photos coming today too- So after posting on the blog the other day, we went to go out and get something to eat, and guess what- yep, it was snowing!!! I am now 100% convinced the snow is following us around!! Luckily, it only snowed for the one evening, so wasnt too bad after that. However, Chicago is officially the coldest place ever. fact. We thought Toronto was cold, but Chicago is something else! The wind is freezing cold, we have been going out in jumpers, coats, hats, scarves, gloves and are still cold!!
On top of that, I (Jon) have now gotten ill so we are taking it easy today, and not doing too much. - I didnt get up till about 12ish, Lisa had been off at the gym, and then on the internet, whilst I slept!
Since we are not seeing too much cos of me being ill, and since we quite like Chicago, we have decided to try and see if we can stay for another 4 nights at the same rate! We have quite a few bars etc by where we are, and we want to try a piano bar and a blues and jazz club once I am feeling a bit better., so are hoping we can get the same deal again.
We had a Chicago greeter yesterday- same as the NY one- but he was really friendly and helpful, and showed us some good things around the city. If anyone ever goes to the states, I would recommend checking to see if there is a greeter program where you go, as they are really good- plus free! We had a wander round on our own after- and those worried about my eating habits will be releived to know I had chicken soup and and iced tea- so a healthy meal!! ;- )
