#132 - Leffe Braun (Belgium) - Well what a day. First of all we have discovered how to eat healthy and on a budget. Wake up late and skip breakfast, kebab for lunch and for dinner corn on the cob with bread and Turkish delight for dessert...total cost 20 Lira (10 AUD per person). We started the day off by going to the Basilica Cistern which was a massive under ground water supply and has the Medusa heads. Then we hit the Grand Bazaar. Basically a giant, giant market. Luckily we did not get lost in there. It seemed to go for miles in each direction and was packed with people. We went in gate 4 and we thought that's where we headed to get out but it was actually gate 1 (I guess we were kind of lost at this point) but got back fine. Purchased some tasty Turkish delight. Then we did a cruise of the Golden Horn and Bosphorous. It was funny getting there. We started in a massive group with a guy holding a sign we followed. He would start walking and people would literally run to get to the front so they get a good seat. But then he would stop and the group would be together again anyway. First time in my life I felt like cattle being prodded along. This happened three times and once we got to the boat we all had to wait to get on anyway and then when we got in there were not enough chairs anyway. Haha. So they slowly brought out plastic ones for everything. Then we cruised along between Europe and Asia. Very cool. We went for two hours and the whole time on each side of the river was populated. Istanbul is a massive place.
