#128 - Bomonti (Turkish). Bigfoot and I popped across the road to the Hagia Sofia today. What a building. It is massive outside and inside is just a good. Massive dome, mosaics, old ramp leading to the second floor and great old architecture. It was built around 500ad. Was firstly a church, then Mosque and now it is a tourism money maker. We had a guided tour with a guy as so we skipped the wait in line and only cost about 15aud each. Maybe we should have stayed in line. The tour was going good for the first 10 or so minutes then the guy got a tad off topic...I know what your thinking, how can a guide get sidetracked in a building such as this...well he started telling us about the evil of Jewish Zionists and all the conspiracies theories that goes with that (Obviously I am using the words conspiracy theories he would use the word facts). This guy looked sane but the stuff he was saying was so bad I am not going to write it. Rather than talking about the building it turned into a hate speech and Bek and I were the audience. After I asked Bek describe that tour in three words...she chose "irrelevant, lost and propaganda". I chose "Bat s*** crazy". We did the tour as the people who just did it with him recommended it....what the? They must have not been listening to what he was saying or got him confused with someone else. The building was worth the visit. Then I finished it off with a kebab.... The one I had in Berlin is still the best. But Turkey I am a kind man and no doubt will give you ample more opportunity over the coming week to provide me with a kebab which will take the title.
