Day 20 & 21

Coco Garden really is the most lovely resort, but it has rained the whole time we've been here so haven't done much other than sit on our balcony, read and watch the rain (nice really when you put it like that). The internet is also down accross most of the island so we can't even get on skype to speak to any one, we think the internet is down due to the amount of people on the island for the party. They are expecting 30,000 people to the full moon beach party tonight,lets hope the rain holds off.

The party is held in Haadrin (Koh Phangan) and everytime time a party is held (28 days for each full moon) people dress up in bright clothes and body paint and share their travelling stories with other travelers they meet. We met some people at our hotel bar last night and we are all going together, think it is everyone's first full moon party :)

Day 22

Been traveling for 3 weeks today, its gone by soo quick. When we look back at all the things we've done, places we've seen and people we've met it almost feels unreal that we have done it in such a short space of time. We have met so many people on a 3 week holiday doing a similar route to what we've been doing but, they will have to go back to work in a few days and we've got more than 2 months left :)

The full moon party was wicked, we all had a really really good nignt. Was good to go with the others from the hotel because none of us really knew what to expect. We left the hotel at about 11 Pm, after creating some rather fancy art work with Body paint :) and got into Haadrin just before 12. They charge everyone 100 Baht to get onto the beach and then the night is pritty much up to you. There is loads of entertainment, Food and drink stands, Places to sit and places to dance, they played all types of music.. was great. If you are drinking at the full moon its good to go with the local classic of a 'bucket' yes just like the ones you used to use on the beach as a kid, only its full of Vodka or Rum not sand. The buckets we drank had a bottle of vodka and 2 mixers (coke & Red bull) and cost about 250 Baht, some places are more expensive than others, but they are generally all around the same price. There were tolilets along most of the beach but they charge a coupple of baht to use them, its much easier for the guys because the sea is always available and always free.. some girls gave the sea ago too....lol

Amazingly our whole group stayed together and got back to the hotel about 5.30. Didn't really have too bad a hangover considering how many buckets we drank.

For not really knowing what to expect and hearing stories about the full moon party being full of 18 year old paralytic drunks, we think we'd say.... it is what you make it! Get a good group of people together enjoy the atmosphere, keep safe and you would have as good a time as we all did.
