DAY 44 - 62 OCTOBER 29 - NOVEMBER 16 MORE DRAMA
Well it's been a while since the last update so I thought I should get on here and let you know what's been going on!
So my last posting was October 28th and things were going ok, or so I thought. Little did I know how much things were about to change. Friday 29th the day started off as normal, a nice lay-in and then I think I went into town or something. Had a nice roast dinner in the evening and then was pretty hot all evening with a bright red face but just put that down to the heating being up high in Mum and Dads house.
Went to bed feeling pretty tired, but for some reason could not sleep at all. I'd spotted a couple of red dots on my arm too but tried to put that in the back of my mind hoping they'd disappear overnight. I literally laid awake all night with insomnia feeling worse and worse every hour. Morning came by and we decided I should get up to the doctors as once again I had a rash covered body and felt awful but when I attempted to get up I almost collapsed. The doctor said they'd come visit but three hours later they called to say we had to go to them. So using every possible bit of energy I could manage I got dressed and my parents literally carried me up to the docs.
Unfortunately the doc had no idea what was wrong and told me I should get to the hospital. At this stage all I wanted was someone to make me feel normal again. So off we went to the assessment unit at Ipswich hospital onnly for them to admit me and carry out a million and one tests as I'd gone into anaphylactic shock. At this stage I thought they'd probably only keep me a night or two, but unfortunately I spent five exhausting nights in hospital. The good thing was that all the tests including mri came back clear and I was being treated for the rash and exhaustion but it was a tiring experience. You dont get to go to sleep until late and then they wake you up at 6am to give you medication. There's also lots of old women shouting things out all night, but during the day it's the one thing that gets you through the hours whilst you're waiting for someone to come and see you so you can go home!
Anyway, once again it was an allergy to the drugs I was on. Oh joy! More time being spent in the UK when we should be seeing amazing sites in Asia, but we just had to think of my health and the positive side of things that I am getting medicated and sorted in the UK instead of feeling s***e in some third world country. So once I finally saw the neurologist he prescribed me a new drug to try and sent me on my way! I was so happy to be getting out of that place, away from manky food, boredom, the smell of poo and being able to sleep in a proper bed.
So twelve days later and so far so good. Obviously I just have to take one day at a time and see how things go, but I feel more human on these ones. No dizziness, no walking into walls and no forgetfullness but as I said, I'm just taking one day at a time as you never know what will happen. Fingers crossed everything will be fine and we'll be on our way soon. But for now I'm spending a lot of time resting, seeing family and friends, freezing my ass off in this cold weather, going in town for the sake of going in town as can't buy anything anyway. Sean came up to visit me for ten days or so and has also spent the remaining time catching up with friends and family and freezing his ass off!
Anyway, that's enough doom and gloom from me, hopefully I'll be back on here soon from another part of the world but time will tell!
Much Love x
