A micro brewery in Virginia and the local brew tastes like Bishop's Farewell so a reminder of home. Food was good too. We celebrated our second bear siting last night - the locals cannot believe our luck. Walked to Turk Mountain about 4.00pm and saw the baby bear on our way down then saw a couple of white tailed deer.
Tuesday we went to Monticello, Jefferson's home and plantation. Interesting guides, didn't realise he had 200 slaves. We're finding it difficult to square his ideals with his practice. The space and amount of land people have is stunning. Then ate at Michies, an 18th century tavern specialising in southern food. Deep fried chicken, pork stew, black eyed peas, beets, beans, stewed tomatoes and mash. Peter managed two platefuls. Chicken was wonderful!
Weather still fantastic. Have added a few photos, mum will see them for irst time on Sunday so decided to sort into albums. Making good use of internet whilst we have it! Really enjoying Virginia - good to be able to take our time and not rush round seeing everything.
