Another brilliant day - weather fantastic today - who knows what tomorrow will bring. Paul keeps sayin that the good weather follows us around!!! Got up pretty early in Chester and took the bus into the town centre (Pauls leg is not too good!!) and then got on the hop-on-hop-off bus around the city. Really good for us and a lovely day sitting up o n top in the sun. Got off at the River Dee and took an half hour river trip up and down. Good to see all the flash houses and the open spaces on the opposite bank. Very informative. Got back on the bus and did the circuit. Not sure if I said that last night I did the wall walk around the city while Paul did a llittle bit here and there. Took about 45 minutes. Really interesting and very historiical. Had dinner at a Pizza restaurant, very popular and tasty indeed. Back to today!!
After getting off the hop-on-hop off buss we headed into the main area and joined in with a performance outside the town hall. It was the Chester summer festival and there was a huge crowd in front of the townhall all joining in on a sing aLONG. It was fantastic, all in part harmony and impromptu - I suspect there was the odd choir or two in the crowd. We could have stayed all day.
Back on the bus to our B & B and pick up the car to negotiate the motorways etc. to the M^ and on to the LaKE Districts and Keswick. We stopped at a Service centre and had a very expensive lunch and then on the Keswick. About a 3 hour drive all up I think. Fabulous day - very warm and no wind.
Checked into B & B - very nice indeed 4 star. Up on the 3rd floor with lovely views of the mountains and the village. Walked down into the town and booked for dinner tonight then found a beer garden in the sun and partook of the odd bevy or two. Back to the B & B and now getting ready to go out to dinner. All pretty good so far. Tomorrow we hope to go out on the lake - Derwentwater and get on another hop on hop off boat and do a bit of walking. May even get a bike and do some biking!!
