Wednesday. We decided to have an early breakfast at the hotel in Dijon this morning as it was more to our taste – fruit, cereal, yoghurt etc. as well as croissants, baguettes pastries etc. Once we had finished packing our bags we all walked down to the station which was all of 5 minutes away and eventually parted company. Monday & Tuesday As you can see I am getting a little lazy with the blog. Dijon has been a bit of a relaxing stay and we decided not to go racing off around the country sight seeing etc. Our taxi ride was very successful time and effort wise. Sunday 7th Our penultimate day on the canal. We had a lovely meal last night in Corbingny after getting over the shock of the 18.50E taxi ride to the Pizza restaurant we chose to go to – all of 3 km away. Saturday. Off this morning in time for the 9 am opening of the locks, first one about not too far away, but not before we had to lift a bridge. These are over the canal to provide access for cyclists, farmer’s vehicles and pedestrians. They are all different, some being manual with all sorts of different winding mechanisms and some electric with a push button system. Friday 5th We had a really lovely night last night. The restaurant was charming and the chef was an award winning chef with a Michelin star. We sat outside on a beautiful little flower laden covered terrace overlooking lovely narrow winding medieval streets.
