We now need some R and R, the 'Victoria Golf Resort' is 6 star at 3 star prices as it is now off season. It is surrounded by about 8 golf courses and very close to the beach. The weather is foul but we find plenty to do, including laundry and a superb massage at a special price. There is also great food and wine.
Our first day it rains continuously so we head off to see if there is some surf along the south coast at 'Sagres' which is the most south westerly point of Europe. The west coast swells are huge and impossible to surf but in the next few days the wind is going off shore and the weather should be getting better.
We play golf the next day with a very nice guy from Rotterdam, the course is good. We have a quiet meal in town with excellent fish and red prawns.
We are still finding it hard to get over our robbery. Ged lost his computer with all his work on it, he is hoping he has it backed up at home. I have lost all our photos from this year, some 6000 photos. Still no great news from Black Pearl except they will take it out of the water for a few days.
The following day the sun comes out but no surf at Vilamoura, so we head off
back to Sagres where we thought the swell might wrap around the point.
On the way we stop at Largos. A stunning beach surrounded by high cliffs. There is no surf at Sagres when we get there so were return to Largos for a swim and lunch. I go for a surf here even though it is small. It is nice to get into the water and enjoy the sunshine after all our traumas.
We are now getting frustrated not knowing when BP will be ready. Ged is
running out of time and money so we tell captain Paul we are coming to the boat which is in Cartagena in Spain, between Gibraltar and Valencia.
