We end up driving another three hours along a freeway from Norcia, to the 'Garambi Penisola', which is a very beautifully forested mountain Peninsula. We are heading towards the town of 'Vieste'. The coastal road to Vieste is very winding and narrow and it takes three times longer than we have estimated to get there. It is a very hot windy day and there are a number of large bush fires in this national park, we drive quiet close to some on our way and the smoke is thick. Through the lonely planet guide we book into the hotel 'Scapoldi', which is set into high cliffs overlooking the sea. We arrive in time for a swim before dinner. There is a beautiful full moon which is very romantic. The next day we have an early sea swim and breakfast and then head off in the car to 'Puglia'.
