Arrived late at night, headed to the cheapest area, Slough, sorry, we mean Little India. Here was our first experience of a dorm while traveling. The smell was a mixture of sweaty boys and stale feet. With only Rachel and one other girl, the smell of their perfume wasn't enough to cover the atrocious smell. And as the air con was only turned on at 9pm and off again at 9am, the smell seemed to get progressively worse throughout the day. In saying that, we did meet some really nice people and as it was one of the guy's birthday, we all went out and had a very expensive beer. Followed a by a visit to Raffles the day after for a Singapore sling and a half a yard of larger. This cost us $110 sgd, about 50 quid.
We went to the Zoo, which as far as Zoo's go, was ok. The monkeys had the whole of the park to swing about in. The baboons got a bit 'excited' in front of us and thoroughly amused Jamie. We saw a Rafiki looking Baboon too. We also got to cuddle and feed the baby kangaroos which were so cute!
The public transport here was fantastic and everywhere was so clean and easy to get to. Again, spent a lot of time in shopping centers. In the evenings, we used to head over to China Town for their awesome Hong Kong noodles. And at spending a huge 90 pounds a day, it was quite a relief to be leaving here.
