Ok... so Naples is a bit of a dump! There's rubbish lying in the street everywhere. Apparently the rubbish collection is terrible! Since the mid-90's the camorra took over the garbage disposal in Campania with disasterous results for the health of the general population as there are no dumping sites and often it is burnt in the streets to avoid detection! Went to see Herculaneum, one of the other cities destroyed by the Vesuvius eruption and much better preserve...
