Bali was a nice change in cost coming form oz and a bit of a culture shock especially for Jahmez having not been outside Europe before. But amazing white sand, palm tree lined beaches and great surfing are international things really. And no one could complain because everthing here is soo cheap. So what we mostly did here for the 10 days was lie on the beach till golden brown and surf to cool down. Its great to relax a bit after oz but the hawkers on the beach trying to sell you everthing from chess sets to women did get a little irritating. Especially as since the second bombing a couple of months ago things have been really quiet in terms of tourists and they are desperate for your custom. Mid way through the 10 days we felt a bit of culture was in order so went form the beach at Kuta to the more traditional town of Ubud. This is home to the monkey temple, a temple lost in the jungle and yes....full of monkeys. The next day we took a tour round the rest of the island and saw the jungles, volcanoes and rice fields that cover the less touristy areas. Then back to the beach for more surf and sun!!
