We said goodbye to the town of Einasleigh and had a looong drive back down towards Brisbane. We wanted to take the outback route and saw lots of wildlife along the way, unfortunately we smelt a lot of decomposing wildlife by the side of the road. There wasn't much to see as such along the way but that was the beauty of driving in the outback, just a lot of nothing! The small towns we happened to drive through were about the size of Einasleigh and it would've been nice to stop and get to know some more locals but it would take forever. We did make a detour to Carnarvon gauge, both of us were not impressed with the drive we had to take off the road but after an hour walk to a viewing point it was definitely worth it. Fabulous views for miles and miles, we still cannot get over the vast space of Australia.
