Cairns is a great city, we went to the lagoon in the morning, walked around the botanical gardens in the afternoon and the night market in the evening. Our campsite was pretty rough for a paid site and James took it upon himself to be the security when a few campers were playing music very loud until very late. We were surprised that James was the only person to ask them to turn the music down when we were a few rows away and there were families with young children surrounding the noisy boys! We had planned to take a trip to the outer reef from Cairns but the trips were pretty expensive and because of the amount of rain they had had we thought the visibility wouldn't be very good.
