James, Raph and I left Maqai early to go for two dives in the world famous Fiji waters. We said fond farewells to the Maqai staff, in particular Gaby and were off to Jewel dive on Tuveuni. Joc and Dan were originally joining us but are off to spend time with Kat in the Fijian village, if only we had more time we would have loved to join them.
We booked to do two dives and a very experienced American diver joined us. Our first dive was on the famous White Wall, one of the top dive sights in the world. It was fantastic, there were so many fish and such brilliant coral it looked like a screen saver. In our break we were comparing scuba diving notes and the American lady said she would love to see a hammer head shark. In our second dive her wish was granted when a huge hammer head swam right towards us. We couldn't believe our luck it took our breath away. Even our dive master was delighted; he had only seen one before. We got dropped off at the ferry and we were surprised to see Joc and Dan again hanging out the window of the mini bus we quickly arranged to meet them somewhere in NZ! James and I paid a little extra to get a room on the boat back to Suva, it was a much better option. I also managed to lose my shoes three times, the first time I left them at the hostel, but the guys bought them back for me, the second time I left them on the boat and Lucas picked them up and then finally I left them in Bamboo reception but luckily I got them back and they are now safely in my luggage!
