Patagonia is starting to get a bit ridiculous now. More epic scenery, beautiful clear rivers and to top it off we have now seen a gigantic glacier. We are in Esquel another small town on the famous Route 40, Argentina's road to Patagonia. The town itself is quite nice but the real beauty lies in the nearby national park. We hired a car (Penny) for a bargain and drove the short distance to the National park where we partook in a few lovely walks. The first walk had signs warning you of Pumas, we spent the whole time looking in the trees and convinced ourselves we saw one, not 100% sure but it is possible. It was great having our own car and took the whole day exploring the huge (and free!) national park. On our way back we picked up a hitchhiker, nice Israeli guy who amused us for the journey back.
The other two days in Esquel we took the bus to a nearby Welsh town called Trevillin. It was pleasant enough but we got there a bit early and none of the Welsh teashops were open so we wandered around for a bit and got the bus back! Our final day we completed a 3km hike up the closest mountain to the town. At the top I nearly got blown away thanks to the gale force winds, but it was a pretty good view and gave us a nice work out for our night bus that evening.
