A quick note about the temples in the pictures - the best thing about them is where they are located. Within one small area, we came across 3 - the first perched in a cave up on a cliff, the others tucked under the cliff wall, right on the beach. The most beautiful spots. Honoring the spiritual important nature of the place. And the second-best thing is that you don't know they are there and you just come across them...and so you feel like you are discovering them yourself (even tho in reality many are probably visited daily). There are small offerings of faded leaves and flowers everywhere. Apparently there are some 200,000 temples across the island. There are of course big ones, famous ones, that are frequented by thousands of visitors. I look forward to these. But there's definately a quiet thrill to coming across them yourself :)
