We are now back in Bangkok. Our bus journey was only meant to take two hours but we got dropped off at a station an hour away from our hotel! We managed to jump on a local bus and eventually got to our hotel. As we've been to Bangkok a couple of times now we go to the normal road which is Khao San Road which normally has a lot of life and loads of street food. We walked down it today and police were everywhere and the streets were empty no food vendors anywhere so we were a little gutted as its lost that backpacking vibe. I checked online and the police have told all street vendors/shops they aren't allowed on the streets as it makes the place look untidy. Me and Tom shared a velvet cornetto today and it was flipping delicious! We decided to go for dinner at a little open street food place but it was rammed as all the other street places have gone. I had banana pancakes and a lady gave me the honey. I got over excited and started squirting the honey loads and a massive wasp came out and fell on to my food :( Tom found it hilarious. Today we went to all four shopping malls! We got on a local bus to the malls and we got it for free yay! Even though all windows were open, it was stupidly old and so so so loud. The driver was eating coffee granules from a packet he was mental and couldn't sit still he was all over the place! We both got the biggest nicest fruit shake today. We just went and got some street food and everything is back to normal yay! Tom was eating his Pad Thai and a massive rat ran in to his foot haha it keeps raining and thundering!!! We manage to get out for a little while and have a walk around and then it chucks it down! Tom got a really nice Tofu Pad Thai and we are now obsessed with spring rolls they are delicious off the street! We have been trying to stock up on toiletries as it's all so cheap over here compared to New Zealand so we are trying to prepare ourselves rather than spend loads in New Zealand. We think we have just about sorted everything for Australia and New Zealand we found some really good online deals for attractions and free sightseeing stuff. We cannot believe we fly to Australia tomorrow it's crazy! We are both wry excited. Today we walked to a really cute little parked which overlooked the river and a massive bridge! We even saw squirrels!
