Hi all so right now we are in Rainbow Beach which is a tiny little town and the waiting place to go over to Fraser Island where we are headed 2morrow! This morning we went out on a boat at 7am to feed some wild dolphins which was really cool as ive never seen dolphins over than in the zoo! Yesterday we spent the day down at the beach catching some rays and playing in the sea. When we checked in at out hostel someone had mucked up the booking so we had to stay the night in the security guards room but to make up for it we got 2 free nights accomodation, 2 free meals, free internet for the whole stay and 4 free jugs of beer so actually worked out quite well. After we left Airlie Beach we had an overnight stop at Kroombit Cattle Station where we played at being cowgirls and boys for the night, we looked the part as we all had cowgirl hats and bandanas! We got taught how to crack the whip which is a lot harder than it looks and resulted in me whipping myself quite a few times and they ran a mechanical bull competition, i was better at this and won as the longest lasting girl on my bus so won a party bus bar crawl for when we ghet to Sydney!!!! The next morning we had to get in to groups of 4 so me Sarah Charlotte and Andrea and catch a goat against the clock, Andrea had to rope it while Charlotte straddled, Sarah branded it and i had to drag it out of the pen much easier said than done but we still didnt end up coming last! We attempted to learn how to lassoo aswell but getting the rope over anything that was srill let alone moved was impossible, for me anyway. The best bit of this trip was goat mustering on horseback through the bush for a few hours, Sarah had a coloured horse called Max and i had Apache, me and Sarah kept trying to go for a sneaky canter but kept getting told off as we had loads of beginners with us and apparently my horse once it was going doesnt stop not even for gates lol - i said i didnt care but they wouldnt have it haha! Our bus drivers who took us from Airlie Beach to here was hilarious his name was 'Thunder' and he must of been around 60 and thought he was a complete stud, his favourite phase was 'f*** Yeah' which we all had to shout everytime we arrived anywhere. There was two buses going to the same places and we had the faster bus and everytime we overtook the other bus Thunder was getting the boys to moon the other bus - made a very long joureny go a lot quicker if nothing else. Ive added some photos of the cattle ranch but the computer i plugged my camera onto wiped my memory card so ive lost all my other photo, the best ones of the wild kangaroos and me ans Sarah togeher on our horses :(!!!We are off to Fraser Island tomorrow for 2 nights and 3 days so will write soon miss u all xxx
