The next few blogs will be fairly brief, two reasons for this, the first is that very little has happened for the last few days, and the other is that I have to write 4 days worth to catch up!!!
We had other nice fairly long sleep before Jade and myself started our packing, mine took alot longer due to the mess I like produce when entering a hotel room!!!
We got lunch/breakfast at the a joining hotel to ours with all of the guys that were left. It was Sophie and Hannah's last meal with us before they disappeared to Laos, we're hopeful we can either bump into them there or later on in Cambodia, because we're both fairly fond of them.
After our good byes with those two, we sat and watched the TV in foyer of the hotel along with a few games of Irish snap and Piggy (another card game). We headed over to an internet cafe after that to get a few of our blogs done, and send the odd email!!! After a good 2 hours on the computers we headed over to the restaurant we had eaten in on the evening we had got back from the trek on Ray's request. He wanted to get the burger he'd enjoyed so much on that evening again before leaving Chiang Mai. After a good old wait, and a lot of unneccesary cafufell with the order we finally all ate, and rushed back to our respective hotels to get ready for the bus. Both Jade and I and Ray and Ailish were to get buses down to Bangko0k, we were fairly sure it would be the same one, but we had booked through different places so that element of doubt was always there, however we still failed to have a proper good bye, even with that doubt. When we got back to our hotel, we both got tips from Dave on tying our boots to the outside of our bags, before having to say our good byes to him. He's a cool guy, and I think it was harder for both us to say bye to him than the others before, I think this was down to the fact that we were leaving the place instead of the other person!!! I don't know why this makes a difference but apparently it does.
We got in our pick up truck and were taken to a petrol station somewhere else in the town where a coach was waiting. Jade had to sit in the front with the driver, shes tells me it wasn't a very entertaining journey, ahh well it was only about 20 minutes. We were waiting around for us to be told we could get on the coach for about 45 minutes, and it seemed as if the Irish couple weren't goping to be on the same coach untill finally they turned up, I was half relieved about it, more for not having said goodbye than anything!!
Once on the coach Jade and I had a discussion about politics, I know, how civalised!! Well I had told Jade about a week earlier I would teach her what I knew, and there the teaching started!!! We both struggled (a lot) to sleep, I think me more than Jade but that could just be me feeling sorry for myself. Ohh I should mention this was a night coach, so it left Chiang Mai at around 8.20ish and was supposed to get in to Bangkok at about 6 am. Having done journeys like this before I wasn't exactly raring to go but, take everything as it comes!!! It came not exactly comfortably!!!!
