It was another early morning today (well once again this is being writen a day later so...yesterdy.) We were up to get the train back to Bangkok for the day before we headed ff again , this time going North to Ayutthaya. The train was alot more full this time around, it being saturday, and going in to Bangkok rather than away!!! We were in the wooden carriage again after attempting to sit in the slightly padded seat carriage, and breaking two of the chairs!!! The journey was still fine, even with more people on the train. We were back in the capital for late morning, and got a tuk tuk back to Khao San, the tourist capital of the capital!!! and shacked up in a slightly worse guest house than we'd previously had, but it did the job.
We had decided on the train, after having done the main attractions of the city the last time round, that we would go down to Lumphini Park and chill for a while and check out Siam Square, which is where the lonely planet says the cools teens hang, so we'd thought we'd fit in, but you'd be surprised how 'seen' some of these teens are, if the older folk reading this don't understand what 'seen' means, then I'm talknig of the teenager with long straightedened hair, prententious attitudes, and their own 'personal' style, thats the same as all the other 'seen' kids!!!! I didn't expect to find them here, but yea!!!
So after getting a tuk tuk down to the park, which is actually a really long way, we had a walk through the large ground, which was really nic ein the sun, we spotted a fairly large lizard in one of the lake type things, aswell as a smaller one just having a wonder. We then found the weight lifting area, and next to it, something I'd seen in other towns out of the train window, free workout equipment, made out of the same stuff childrens play areas in parks are made out of, I think it's a fairly freaking good idea, with all this malakey about obeseadey (don't bother mentioning that spelling) and that!! So we had a play on those, and then headed for Siam Square. It was a bit of walk down, ummm the up market street/area, we passed the four seasons, and its imatators on the way, which gives you a fairly good heads up for the type of shopping we found in Siam Square!!! Endless amounts of shopping centres, which at another time, with another bank balance may have been a nice afternoons entertainment, but this time around it was more of a you can look but but you can't touch type thing! Even though we might come back to pick up a few things on our way down to the south of Thailand, after Laos and Cambodia.
After our browsing, we decided to go and ahave a look at the National Stadium just down the round, so we walked along the Skywalk, the views, mad eus both think of Japan, as the shoping centres had aswell, all white, glass and pristine!!! When we got to the Stadium the sun was setting and there were some groups of people playing five a side just out side on the concrete pitches, It was a really nice sight, and made me miss the game!!!
When we got back to Khao san we showered and went out to eat, after sitting about and watching the world go by for a while we went and had a look at some of the t-shirts on offer, and then found the Man Utd game on Tv so watched that, it finished at 12, which was a bit latter than we wanted to go to bed but ahhh well, When in Rome!!!
