This weekend was our first trip to Dubai; the Las Vegas of the Middle East. We left right after dinner on Thursday and arrived in Dubai at about 10:30. We headed to our hotel and crashed for the night...it was a busy day with the school's National Day celebration all morning.

The next day we got up and headed to Dubai Mall where there is an indoor aquarium and waterfall amongst the many stores. We strolled around there for a bit before deciding to head to Jumeira Souk to do some shopping and to get lunch. After the souk it was back to Dubai Mall to go up to the top of the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building. It was beautful to be able to see the city lit up at night from such an amazing vantage point. We left the Dubai Mall after watching the water fountain show and headed to the hotel for a night of drinks and shisha with friends.

The next morning we were up (not so early) and headed off to the Dubai Museum and the old souk across the river. We did some shopping and then went back to 2nd December Street for a lunch of Indian Food before making our way to the airport to go back to Muscat. Overall, a busy, short weekend!
