We arrived in Chicago to change planes and there we discovered that we were the minority and would be for a long time! We boarded the plane to Doha and from there, on to Muscat. It was on this very long flight (13 hours) that Leanne had coffee spilled on her by our flight attendant and was taken to the back of the plane to be looked at by a doctor on board. Our arrival in Doha saw a golf cart waiting to take us to the airport medical centre where Leanne was treated and released and we were given another ride to our gate. A good thing as Doha's airport is massive; our first taste of Mid-East excess. Finally, at 10:30 p.m. on August 18 we arrived in Muscat and were greeted by Mike, the Principal and Daryl the Vice Principal. After getting a SIM card for the cell phones we were off in the bus to discover our new apartment and our home for the next year in this very hot, very dry land of Oman.
