We had a great sleep and were ready for our first day exploring the area of Jordan arond the Dead Sea. After breakfast we headed straight for the pool and beach area to have a day in the sun. We made the trek down from the resort to the beach along the dead sea where we got in and immediately were incredibly buoyant! Even I could float...something that hasn't happened in my life without the help of a noodle or life jacket. The water was swirling with cloudiness from all of the salt and small scrapes and cuts on your skin immediately felt the burn of all that salt. We spent the rest of the day lounging around by the pool and enjoying the waterslides before heading off to the 'mall' for dinner.
After dinner we sat out under the stars in the cool night and smoked some shisha at the resort by the pool. Overall, the Dead Sea was very amazing and we are so happy to have had the opportunity to visit it in our lifetime.
The next day we awoke late and after breakfast headed to a waterslide park where it appeared we would be the only ones there for the day. We were told a school group was coming but we decided to check it out anyway. As we were about to pay, three yellow school buses pulled up and a three busloads of grade 8ish Arabic kids spilled out. We immediately knew this would not be a comfortable day for Leanne and Layla so got into the car and drove into the hills toward Mount Nebo and the Ma'in Hot Pool and Waterfall. We were not disappointed. The water was steaming hot coming out of the mountains and the waterfalls felt like a hot shower. It was a great experience. After the hot springs, it was back to the hotel to chill by the pool and slide on the slides for a few hours as it was getting into the mid 30's and getting warm. This would be our last day at the Dead Sea and in Jordan. We left the next morning bright and early at 5:30 to get to the airport to catch our flight home to Muscat. Overall, a great Sring Break 2017!
