We had fresh croissants and pain au chocolat for breakfast and my auntie Jackie made us sandwiches for our lunch.
We bought two days travel tickets and went to notre dame to start our day. The queue for the cathedral was long!! We didn't want to queue up so we looked at the sign and once the queue split for a bit to let people through, we pushed in and got in! The cathedral was nice but nothing compared to other cathedrals we saw.
We queued up for ages to get to the top. There was a man with a creepy mask entertaining the tourists by scaring people. We both enjoyed watching him.
We got in for free as we were European citizen and aged between 18-25.
It was nice but definitely couldn't stay for long as became bored of the view after a while. The bell was closed so we weren't able to see it which I was very disappointed about!!
The weather was very different from the places we have been to. It was a bit chilly and I had a jacket on. It felt weird after wearing sleeveless clothes!
We sat down on some steps and had our lunch, decided to walk to museum O'dsay and we stopped by some stalls on the streets. We saw a padlock at a stall and we tried to test it out with key as we wanted to go the bridge that is covered with padlocks of love. Suddenly the owner of stall came and shouting at us, grabbed the padlock out of my hand. We were so surprised, I wish I pocked up some of padlocks and throw them on the ground. She was very rude.
We managed to find a nice stall with a nice owner so we bought a padlock with Eiffel Tower and the word Paris engraved on it.
We walked for a bit and ended up seeing the padlocks bridge by luck! We were planning to go tomorrow. We needed to find some permanent pen so we can write our name on the padlock. We found a man at a stall, asked him to use his pen which he happily lent us so we wrote 'JAM' with a heart in green pen first. JAM stands for Jacob and Molly. As we proceed to lock our padlock, we found out the pen wasn't permanent! We searched for a bit and found a stall with two snobby women so paid 50cents to use their pens as they are for customers only. She gave me a black pen so I wrote 'JAM' and a heart. Jacob took red one and filled the heart in.
We looked for a spot and found one, so we locked our padlock and threw the keys in the river! How romantic!
We went to the museum next and we got in for free! I enjoyed it and Jacob was thoroughly bored. We were in museum for nearly couple of hours. Time was flying by so quickly. We both realised we should have stayed longer in Paris but will definitely come back one day.
We went to Eiffel Tower and the sign was saying that the top part was temporarily closed! So we asked a woman at the help desk, turns out that it was overcrowded so will be reopened later. So we were relieved as we wanted to go to the top. We went to the loo and queued up for a bit. The sign changed and said the top was available!
We got reduced fare for ten euros, that was including the lift as I was too lazy to take the stairs and decided we would use the stairs on our way back down.
It was lovely up there and the view was pretty impressive. I have been to Eiffel Tower before and it still doesn't bore me. It is Jacob's first time in Paris so he really enjoyed the Eiffel Tower. We took stairs down and were glad we decided on the lift on the way up!
It was becoming dark and the lights came on, Jacob understood why everyone said it looks better in night time and it was gorgeous. The sparkling lights came on for a bit which we liked very much so!
We got the metro back to my aunts for dinner and we were shattered so we went to bed not long after dinner!
