We are having to wait a day for our Fraser Island tour so we take today off as a rest day - Matt's been constantly driving so needs a bit of a break and as it's a sunny day we decide a pool day is ideal.
We find another campsite on Hervey Bay called colonial YHA, it's $30 and comes with a pool, restaurant, gorgeous grounds and the luxury of an indoor shared kitchen with a sofa and TV!! We chill by the pool for a few hours topping up the tans, Jacq walks to the shop and then it's off for dinner - Matt cooks up spicy pasta and blows Jacqs head off, which is hard to do as her spice threshold is impressive, she suspects he's trying to kill her.
After dinner, we head to the on-site bar, play pool and jenga - there's lots of travellers here some are pretty friendly others ... not so much. We find the Europeans the most social. We have a tour booked with "Unique Fraser" tomorrow - they offer a more personal service than the big buses, 7 people in a 4-wheel drive with extra trips to the Champagne pools and Indian head which no other one day trip offers. And if that didn't sway it for us once we discovered they also throw in food, champagne and beer we were done! It's dearer than the bus tours but Jacq find as voucher code which knocks nearly $50 dollars off, making it the same price as the others - bargain, can't wait!
It's been a good day and tomorrow's going to be amazing!
