A weekend in Cali, the salsa capital of the world, somehow turned out to be quite quiet and relaxing. Maybe what I failed to realise is that they take dancing very seriously, not just as a drunken passtime. The first night was quite fun, though my participation was not an active one, but all the clubs closed at the ridiculous hour of two, the same time that clubs in BA would be opening.
Not losing hope with Cali despite all but four people from the hostel left on Saturday, we hit the town again, this time to a district a bit further from the center which apparetnly had bigger clubs. When clubs are situated next to cheap motels, it is usually a good sign, but we were forced back early, being rejected from a club that would only allow couples to enter.
On the plus side, the people were the most friendly I´ve met in South America, and the city is also nice to explore in the day, though I would much rather have had a good nightlife. Shame, though I have not lost all faith in Colombia yet.
