The Gnomes are Locked in the Cellar
We flew into Kuala Lumpur late last night from Colombo on a crazy Air Asia connection. First we flew over 1,000 kilometres west, the the Maldives, then back 3,100 kilometres east to K L. It was after midnight when we arrived so we dined on the Malaysian version of cup-of-soup. This morning we hit-the-bricks, in sweltering heat, at ten o'clock and didn't stop until one in the afternoon.
In spite of K Ls ultra-modern architecture it's not a pleasant place to be. Everywhere, there are cars; just trying to cross the street can be difficult. Motorists would drive the damned things through buildings if the doors to places were large enough.
