Hi All
Well we survived a very flat 3 hour crossing to the North island on Saturday and arrived in Wellington. The north island is so different from the south on fist impressions for a start they have roads, real roads with tarmac and lines !!!!!! It was a bit of a shock comming off the ferry onto a motoryway and we both felt like we had arrived in France.
Decided to stay one night just outside Wellingotn on Saturday and on Sunday headed up to Mt Edgemont which is a large dormant volcano. We thought we could do a walk up it a little way as its a national park and thought it looked quite scenic. As we arrived failry late on Sunday afternoon we thought we'd stay the night at a holiday park (the owner was from Barned Castle near Jack so she kept us talking forever) and planned to do the walk the next day, however when we woke up you couldnt see the volcano there was so much cloud and the weather was bad so we couldnt do the walk we wanted but we did do a small one.
Were back in Wellington now untill Thursday and there is one camp sites in Wellilngton which we are staying at but its a bit of a hole but its only for 2 nights. We went to a cafe called Fidels for lunch and we shared the bigtgest piece of chocolate cake we've had in a long time (not as nice as yours Ali xxxx)Jack wanted to go there as it is full of Fidel Castro stuff and it was really nice food. Theres a street here called Cuba Street and it has loads of nice shops and Cuban references so Jacks happy.
The weather is pretty bad today so hopefully if it clears up tomorrow we will go up the cable car and maybe go to see the seals in the afternoon. We've been to the art museaum today which was reallly good.
Anyway hope everyone is well and not working too hard.
Missing you all
loads of Love
Liz and Jack xxxxxx
