Hello! What a great place Dublin is!!
I am still staying at a hostel but it's cheap and has a very convenient location. I have been offered a room in a sharehouse with 3 Irish gals, I move in on the 1st of February and can't wait! I am stoked that I wont be living with Aussies and Kiwi's ... no offence guys, I miss ya heaps!! It's a gorgeous little place with a nice backyard and is surrounded by parks, hopefully when and if the sun comes out I can make full use of the beautiful surroundings.
I am on my third and final day of my first temp job here, a small firm south of the city. It's set up in an old flat (or 2), love it! Nice and simple, a good way to ease me back into work again :-) I have accepted a full-time position at Matheson Ormsby Prentice, Ireland's biggest law firm, starting on Monday as a litigation secretary. Yay for me!
I have met some lovely people at the hostel from all over the world, French, Spanish, Brazilian, Italian etc. I haven't seen all that much as yet as I have been busy trying to set myself up. We (roomies and I) wandered into town on Saturday night to Temple Bar, the main party district in Dublin and went to one of the Irish pubs there. They had a 4 piece traditional Irish band playing while we downed 1 or 2 pints of Guiness (my first Guiness ever!!) it was such a good night.
I have been walking absolutely everywhere so have seen a fair bit of the city itself, such a lovely place with lots of parks, waterways etc. The people here are so nice and jolly! The weather is pretty crap and it has rained everyday since I have been here but the Irish don't care, they don't let it get them down like the Londoners. On my first day here as I was walking through the centre of town, it started to snow. It was amazing, I don't ever remember it snowing anywhere in the world, everyone was trying to get under cover but I just walked through the streets with a huge smile on my face enjoying the scene.
Friday is payday and the number one thing on my list is an Irish sim card so will let you all know the number when I get it.
I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and Jolly new year!
Much love xoxxo
