Trip to the gorgeous little islands of Murano and Burano... After our very late night last night we got up rather late and then took the vaporetto to the little island of Murano which is quite close to Venice. Murano is the island of the glass makers and haas been for many centuries. In the 1100's the glass makers were banished from Venice to this little island because of the high risk of fire. Festa del Redentore...... We went for lunch today at the trattoria downstairs, Trattoria da Marisa! It was very busy down there last night, mainly with locals which is always a good sign so we decided to try their set lunch (pranza) menu. It was so good and cheap too! Disembark.....Magical Venice... Left the ship at about 10 this morning. Wasn't too chaotic, quite organised. Then walked to the apartment. Last night of the cruise...arrived in beautiful Venice.... We were at sea all day yesterday, so had a very lazy day. Slept in late and then went to brunch at about midday. Then spent the day around the pool, snoozing. This morning we arrived in Venice. Wow!! The most spectacular sail in to port you will ever see! Everyone was lining the sides of the ship to get a view of the beautiful city as we wound our way into port. Past the Grande Canal and San Marco!!...
