A bit of a dilemma day!!!!

We are flying to Rome tomorrow and according to our Alitalia flight info we needed to check in online today. Said it was necessary that we check in online. The check in was only open for 24 hours before the flight. So today was the day to do it! We have no wifi here at the apartment so we need to go down to Taormina to check in. We decided to drive down there rather than walk all the steps as we will drive to another beach later. So off we go!! We ended up in the narrowest street I have ever seen!!! Lauri decides we can still drive down it... We fold the mirrors on both sides in and honestly I think we had an inch on either side!!! How we made it down there I do not know! So now we decide that we can park the car for a short time here in the street( there are no signs saying we can or cannot park there). And go to the Internet cafe to checkin for the flight. If only it was so easy!!! Thought it would take 10 minutes or so! Well we get there and I check myself in but it would not check in Lauri's booking. Then when trying to check them, both the bookings are now unknown! So after an hour or so of trying work it out, which we didn't, we leave.... And find that we have been booked!!!! So another €40 thank you very much!! We then went down to Isola Bella which indeed is quite beautiful. A tiny island in the clear water. We stayed there and had some lunch but it had clouded over and was a bit cool so did not swim.

Later we came home and rang Alitlalia who said that yes their site had had some problems and you really did not need to check in online anyway. So that had costed a few hours and a parking fine for nothing!!!
