Today was the day that we were leaving Japan... We arose early as we had a mammoth trek to the air port in Osaka, firstly getting a subway or two then a couple of trains. We arrived at the airport in one piece though and proceeded to check in. An easy job we thought... No visa for Hong Kong, first in the queue, we would be sipping lattes in minutes... Nope!! The girl at the desk asked us if we had our flights booked out of Hong Kong and could she see the confirmation. We couldn't access this as it was online and we didn't think we would need it considering we have a whole six months worth if visa in Hong Kong. Anyway despite me saying this and the whole thing being irrelevant she proceeded to phone air asia and speak to her supervisors. I enquired what they would do if we didn't have a flight booked, after all six months is a long time?! But she couldn't really understand me. It was all a pointless activity as they then let us proceed without finding or seeing our flight details.
We spent the day in either airports or planes and arrived in shanghai about three pm... To which you could tell we had left the politeness of Japan and landed back in China with a Big Bang. Straight away people were pushing and shoving... Steven got out of our seat ready to leave the plane and headed down the aisle but then about thirty people barged down behind him... Not one person was polite enough to let me out. I jumped out when a guy bent down to get something from his bag.
We waited shortly in shanghai before boarding the flight to Hong Kong landing about seven thirty. We passed through immigration without any hint of an outward flight needed then proceeded through customs quickly. We collected our bags and came out into the arrivals lounge to see the smiling and welcoming faces of B and Edd. It was so nice to finally be back and able to hang out. We headed to the food court and Steven bought a Burger King while Edd bought his weight in pizza. I wasn't too hungry as they had fed us on both flights but joined B as she made her decision.... Eventually on dumplings. I ordered a sour plum juice and it was ...strange! We ate our food and chatted about Japan and the two weeks we had been apart before heading back on the bus to their flat. It was a bout an hours drive on a very bumpy route but we all arrived in one piece. We headed in and dropped our bags before chilling ...awww the weekend could begin.
