Over the next few days we took a break from back packing, sightseeing and taking millions of photos and chilled like we were at home therefore the blog is combined for the weekend to give a brief overview. We woke up about nine am on sat and it was lovely, the bed was comfy, the sun was shining in the window and I had a UK edition of Glamour next to the bed to read... And that I did. The others were still sleeping so enjoyed some very much missed me time. I love nothing more than a lazy morning in bed with a cup of tea and a magazine and since we didn't have to get up early, I could enjoy that. There was no early flight, no sightseeing and no sharing my space with a load of other people.... Bliss.
I read my magazine and savoured all the things I was missing at home, fashion, music, celeb gossip and pretty girly things before I eventually jumped off the bed (it was very high lol) and wandered in to the lounge to make a cup of tea and chill with Dim Sum (a very cute and mischievous cat). I couldn't locate normal tea so had a herbal one before lying on the sofa and reading another glamour magazine.
Once everyone stirred it was nearing mid day so we decided to head for some real dim sum... After a proper cup of PG tips (got to love these Brits abroad!). We headed to a local mall and found a place and it was packed, always a good sign. We took a pew and B ordered a variety of dishes for us and it was all delicious although so very much of it. Steven was made up though and made a good dent in the pile... I enjoyed endless cups of tea (really loving this tradition). We had spring rolls, wonton, dumplings, bread and a rice dish that is similar to porridge but a lot smoother and incredibly tasty. It also had fermented eggs which were black, these are the one Chinese delicacy that I said I would never try but you know what the were actually delicious and not horrid at all.
We ate until we couldn't anymore before we headed home for an afternoon of relaxation. During the course of the afternoon we drank a lot of PG tips, the guys played a lot of Xbox and then we snuggled down to watch brave. I then had a bath that was beautifully ran by B full of luscious bath salts and bubbles and eased down into my first bath in ten weeks... It was amazing!! I thoroughly enjoyed that for a while soaking my bones. After my bath it was almost time for tea, the guys had made a very tasty and light home made broth with a side serving of salmon and the biggest plate of Vegetables I have ever seen, just what I wanted! They were so yummy.
After dinner we chilled out lounging and playing with Dim Sum while catching up with B and Edd before retreating to bed for a very peaceful sleep.
Sunday we woke late again and slowly started our day, we showered and spruced then headed out to town to look round the shops. Me and Steven had a few errands that needed doing before we hit Thailand. He had to get a hair cut, which he did for less than a fiver ad very nice it is... Mine was extremely important and involved a girl trip to H&M for vest tops lol... It was so nice shopping although on a budget I enjoyed purchasing some new tops as I'm sick to death of wearing the same things day in and day out and it was nice shopping with B. We eventually went to meet the guys in a coffee shop and after some debating decided to have dinner in the food court. Me and Steven tried some Korean food and it was delicious.... Very spicy beef and noodles. After dinner we were stuffed but headed to the supermarket to grab the last few bits for dinner tomorrow. I was originally going to cook shepherds pie as a thank you but after a little think I thought they would prefer my signature chicken and bacon pie, we grabbed the ingredients, some beers and the most expensive jar of marmite ever and headed to the flat for an evening of chilling out... Beers and karaoke, Steven was dreading the latter.
On arriving home me and B prepared the pie for tomorrow so it could marinade overnight. Then the evening was spent chilling out and we all had a go on the karaoke, which despite Stevens reluctance ...kept selecting songs. We then cracked out the cranium and did rival teams... Me and Steven won after some very funny blind drawing, puppeteering and modelling stuff from play doh. Then eventually despite saying we were all going to get an early night we fell in to bed after midnight.
