Today we left the pink city.... We got up at eight am and headed downstairs, I didn't fancy breakfast so went to get the Punjabi suits. I was having nightmares about getting ripped off as we had paid last night and didn't get a receipt! That's what happens when you shop tired! We arrived and they weren't there but did arrive in time for our departure and wow... They were stunning! So much nicer than I thought, and I did feel a bit bad for the guy! So paid a good price... However no time to dwell as off to the next destination.
We were heading to Agra but were stopping on route at a small village for the night called Bhandarej ...it was a few hours away but well worth the drive!! We were staying in a palace called Bhanrawati and it was absolutely stunning...it was the old kings house before it was abandoned and is now a private residence and a world heritage site. The place was huge and we were the only people there. This was by far my best day. We arrived about twelve pm and went through to the vast dining room for room allocation then headed off in search of the room. Our room was stunning... Big with a beautiful arch and massive bathroom. The honeymoon suite and nicest by far lol... We unpacked and put lighter clothes on and headed to lunch. Lunch was tasty especially as I hadn't eaten since yesterday lunch and it went down a treat. We then had some down time before the walk around the village at four pm.
Myself and Angie changed in to our Punjabi suits as we were yet to try them and they are stunning! We went to take some pics around the palace and Angie got right into photographer mode... She got some lovely shots! Steven also really liked the Punjabi suit and said it was beautiful.
We then met up with everyone at four pm ad headed out to the village. It was so humbling, a tiny little place and was just like you see in the TV when people visit these remote villages in Africa. There were kids everywhere and so friendly... All wanting their photo taken! Such a nice place... We walked through and visited a small drop well before walking to a more remote village. On route I stood on a mahooooosive thorn that went through the side of my heel and stung like anything when I pulled it out... Thought it was poisoned as it hurt so much and bled loads... However it did settle down and I'm still breathing so all is fine.
We walked to an even smaller village and chatted with the locals... There was so many gorgeous kids everywhere and the ladies saris are stunning. They are so bright and I have no idea how they keep them so clean. We stopped and had some chai which was nice and I took so many pictures of the kids... They all want their photo taken!
When we returned we sat out in the courtyard and had a cup of tea before retiring for a shower before dinner... I showered and then sat down to upload the pics before heading to dinner but then felt soooo tired! I realised then that I wasn't actually that hungry and was just shattered so I stayed and Steven went for dinner. Was less than half an hour and he returned! Wasn't expecting him so early but it turned out they had put music on and there was a kid trying to get people to dance so Steven promptly retreated! Said the dinner was yummy though. We then settled down in bed and slept soundly... Was only about nine thirty. It was quite refreshing... In this hotel there was no TV or Internet and it was nice. I've not missed Internet or phones since I have arrived and if it wasn't for the fact we need to let our parents know we are alive and well I could happily cope without them!
