Today was my big worry day - three separate plane tickets with South American reliability reputation preceding them, but it worked a dream!

A very long dream, I grant. Twenty four hours from Sucre, Bolivia to NY, NY with 10 hours kicking our heels in transit hell. However, with a little ingenuity we made it relatively unscathed.

The La Paz pastime was persuading shop holders to swap their 50 centavo pieces for larger denomination coins and notes. The 50 centavo piece is an ideal betting chip for Pontoon, Newmarket, etc and I am now the proud (if lop-sided) owner of 91 of the suckers - or 9 quids' worth!

Lima's pastime of choice was eating sushi (I KNOW!?!) and meeting our Dutch Uyuni tour compardres on their final flight home from Lima to Amsterdam - 12 hours mostly over water ...

Our flight was delayed by 40 minutes, but as it was a full flight I font suppose we really left that late.

Whatever you do, avoid suicidal ideation and thoughts of self-harm by not watching Transcendence, with Johnny Depp. You will despise yourself even before the film ends!

Chef on the other hand, is a delightfully light confection of a movie. A tad predictable, but beautifully done. 4 stars out or 5!
