Saw Bruce this morning before we headed off for a half day tour to the Cu Chi Tunnels with local guide Gem
1.5 hour bus trip then into the tunnel complex
Saw lots of examples of tunnel entrances and examples of what the Viet Minh (we know them as Viet Cong which was an American propaganda term used outside Vietnam to suggest the "communist peril"
Then into one of the tunnels - very narrow and A could only go through on hands and knees for 20metres. V did it despite being claustrophobic but unfortunately J couldn't manage it
Went past a shooting range where you could pay to fire an AK47 machine gun - no one did from our group
Bus got us back to hotel by 1.15pm after stopping at a family home for rice paper making demo and to visit a piggery - fun
Spent the afternoon cooling off in the hotel room before the group meeting at 6pm with the leader of the Cambodia section of the tour
Leader called Te and after the meeting we went and had dinner in the vibrant backpacker area again
Tomorrow we are on a public bus for 7 hours travelling from Vietnam into Cambodia and onto Pnohm Phen
