As I expected very average nights sleep since too hot and headache - only 2 beers surely Beer Lao is not that strong
Anyway back to the boat with porters - Josh had 4 on the go - 1 for each bag and one for his takeaway bowl of fruit do you mind - he was like the pied piper coming down the hill and his child care skills were in action. Cost him a Lao fortune but he made sure everyone who helped him got paid
Porters were kids aged say 10 to 15 and carried 20kg luggage bags on their shoulders across uneven rocks to the boat!
Long day cruising the Mekong today but never tire of the scenery
Great lunches on the boat home cooked Lao food
Stopped at Pak Ou Caves in side of cliff which is a sacred site due to lots of Buddha statues being bought there by local people
Arrived in Luang Prabang around 4.30pm and another interesting steep uneven porter assisted disembark then to our guest house for 3 nights. Better than last one but still a bit below par we reckon
Walk to night market and then dinner at Coconut Tree restaurant and a Lao tasting menu which was great but too big
Strong French influence in Luang Prabang and it is a World Heritage City which is ensuring it's rapidly developing tourist industry is retaining the towns heritage. Pretty impressive place and very tourist oriented but in a tasteful way
