Headed off in the minibus for Vientiane this morning
More amazing scenery along the way yet quite different to yesterday
Lots of villages and now we have just passed through a quite industrial area near Vientiane with factories for cement, making shoes etc. Also I think we have left the poorer areas of the country as there are some mansions along the road here.and the land has flattened out now compared to the last few days.
Vientiane is quite city like of course compared to the other places we have been in Laos
Interesting to walk around but do prefer the smaller places. Visited COPE an organization supported by Intrepid which helps Lao people who have been disabled by the millions of unexploded cluster bombs from the Vietnam war
Had a bit upmarket dinner tonight upstairs with a good range of food and drinks
Last day in Laos tomorrow and what an amazing experience it has been - people and scenery. Laos is rapidly on the move as the next major tourist destination in Asia - glad we have seen it now
