Some terribly sad news on the morning that we left Chamonix, they had the deadliest summer avalanche ever on Mount Blanc, with 9 climbers lost. 12 climbers were rescued from the avalanche and 2 are still missing. It is very sobering as you wonder how many of the people we observed on Mt Blanc the previous day were caught up in the tragedy.
