Hello to you!
Well well well, more bad luck continues in the world of Ian and Hayley, after our last addition all ended well and we were waiting to pick up the campervan. We arrived at the pick up point expecting them to have my driving license (if we didnt already tell you, i lost my wallet in LA with my driving license in it so i had to get it mailed out to the campervan people). However when we got there it had not arrived. Big shock for hayley coz she was going to have to drive the van, untill the DVLA faxed them with confirmation I could drive. That wasnt to bad for Haylz she was pretty confident she could do it, untill he sprung another suprise on us it was an automatic, not only was she going to have to drive a van for the first time in a big city, she was going to have to drive an automatic for the first time. Easy! I hear you say, you put it into drive and go. Right, until you touch the brakes, as the van is new the brakes are a little bit more sensative than the little peugoet. She did good, bless her, we got around the corner in one piece where we naughtily changed places and I drove, still touching the brakes a little bit to hard and trying to change gear all the time. It kept us entertained for the first hour or so. Our little beast is called catfish, the paintings on it are very interesting based on japanese tattoo art, on one side is a catfish and the other side is some kind of bird.
Our first stop in New Zealand was the bay of Islands. We didnt do much here, but we had a BBQ on the beach for hayleys birthday and went out on the lash around some of local bars.
Our next stop was at Watimo. This is when the fun starts. At watimo we went to some caves where we absailed 35 metres down into the cave. Absailing in pitch black is a mad experience, then they attached use to some mad swing thing called a flying fox, again in the dark its crazy coz you dont have a clue when you are going to stop. Now about 60m under ground we get some big rubber rings and go black water rafting further in to the caves. Here we did some mad face painting thing with mud off the wall, it was a traditional mauori thing. Then we turned off our lights layed back in our rings and watched the magic. On the roof of the cave were millions of glow worms, it was cazy, it was like looking at the night sky. our adventure carried on in the freezing water, crawling through small gaps, tripping up, and ending the trip by climbing out of the cave via 3 big water falls. It was alot harder that it sounds . It was like being a Goonie for the day. Hayley played the part of Chunk obviously with all that fat on her. HE HE HE.
Our next day was in Rotorua. Here we did Zorbing. The human hamsterball thing. We took the hydro option together which involved it being filled with water and going together. Haylz said she was gonna try run down the hill all the way. Ha, she slipt within 1/2 a second, took me out with her which made me boot her in her rude bits and ment we were tumbling all over the place laughing our heads off all the way to the bottom. It was over in about 20 seconds but well worth the money.
We stayed in Rotorua for the night and the next day we were off white water rafting. This was brilliant. It involved a 2m, a 1m and the only 7m commercial waterfall drop in the world. cant say owt more it was brilliant, look at the photos.
And today in Lake Taupo was the best thing I have ever done, Haylz wasnt going to do it but she changed her mind at the last minute. The 15000ft skydive. It was absolutely amazing. The feeling you get from the 60 second freefall is undescribable. Hayley was so glad she did it. I want to do it again. I now think our bad luck has finished (touch wood) because we couldn't of asked for a more perfect day, there wasnt a cloud in the sky, you could just about see the north and south ends of the north island. Like i said the best thing i have ever done. Look at the photos again you will understand why!!!!
Off to the south island 2 night should get there 2moz. gonna go now i need to rest I am still rushing from my adrenaline thats still buzzing around my body.
oh yeah one more thing we are making some bloody good teas to say we are cooking with one gas hob only. Its a mastered art form to cook curry and rice and have then warm both at the same time. :-).
bye bye everybody bye bye!
