Well, well, well. hello everyone. Its been so long since we wrote on here i bet you have all forgot about us. Sorry! well since last time we were about to go fruit picking to make some more cash. The reason we haven't wrote on here is because fruit picking lasted a week and didn't make us anymore cash, so we don't have spare cash to spend on interent anymore. The reason it lasted a week was because it was a load of s***. I was planting little plants every foot up and down a field and haylz was picking egg plants on her first day for nearly 13 hours, as you can imagine she was not a happy bunny. After that she was picking grape tomatoes, these are smaller than cherry toms, and to fill a bucket you need to pick at least 700, and for one bucket you got 5.50 dollers (2.5 pounds), so if you do the maths she needed to pick a hell of a lot tomatoes to even try and make any kind of decent cash. anyways as you can imagine after a week were sick to death and not making much money at all, there are alot of funny stories to go with the week but it would take me ages to write them, you will have to wait till we get back for them.

After our week of fun we headed further up the East Coast up to Cairns for a couple nights before moving on up to Port Douglas. Port Douglas was a small tourist beachside town. There we went on a trip to Cape Tribulation, the only place in the world where World Heritage Rainforest meets World Heritage Coral Reef (the Great Barrier Reef). We went walking through the rainforest and took a river cruise down the Daintree River croc spotting and we managed to spot 6 little crocs!!!! Back in Cairns after Port Douglas we booked a trip to Ayers Rock and 3 days later after hours and hours on the Greyhound bus, and a stop over in a place called Mount Isa where we managed to get tickets for a rodeo, we arrived in Alice Springs. After a night staying in Alice we were up early at 5am and being picked up by our tour guide Nadz for 3 days, 2 nights camping in the outback. We set off and 4 hours later we arrived at the base of Ayers Rock where we did a Mala walk with Nadz who explained all about Aboriginal culture and the cave paintings soundig the rock. He then left us to do a base walk the whole way around the bottom of the rock. Unfortunately the climb track to the top was closed off the day we were there due to high winds but the Aboriginal people don't like people to climb the rock anyway as it is sacred ground to them so as a mark of respect people tend not to climb it anyway! As it got closer to sunset our group headed over to a lookout point, along with hundreds of other tour groups, to watch the sunset over Ayers Rock. It was pretty amazing watching the rock change colour from orange, to red then to purple. As night fell we headed out into the bush to collect firewood and then found ourselves in the middle of nowhere in the outback sat around a camp fire under the stars playing drinking games. For a true Aussie camping experience we all slept in swags (a canvas sleeping bag with a mattress in) under the stars around the fire with no tents in site, needless to say it was FREEZING!!!! After a surprisingly comfortable, but cold nights sleep (-1) we were up early at 5.30am to watch the sunrise over Ayers Rock. Thanks to Nadz our guide getting the time of sunrise wrong by half an hour we were all stood waiting for the sun to appear for an hour freezing our balls off!!!!

To warm us up after waiting for sunrise our next stop was a walk around Kata Tjuta and into the Valley of the Winds, a place you probaly won't have heard that much about as it is more spirtually significant than Ayers Rock to the Aboriginals so it has not been wrote about as much as the rock has. This place was more meaningful than the rock for us and the walk was breath taking. For the rest of that day we drove for ages to our campsite where we all helped make dinner which was cooked on the campfire and I learnt how to make Damper bread while Ian was in charge of the fire!!! It was the best meal we'd had for ages!!!!! After another night sleeping under the stars around the fire Nadz woke us early at 6am and drove us to Kings Canyon for a 3 hour walk into the canyon through the domes of the Lost City and down into the Garden of Eden. The Garden of Eden was a secluded waterhole surrounded by the canyon walls and looked amzing. Ian and 2 other lads on our tour took up Nadz' challenge to go for a quick dip into the waterhole, him telling them it wouldn't be that cold and they weren't allowed to test the water before jumping in!!!! After a massive jump in and a big splash they all appeared on the surface gasping for air as the freezing cold water had taken their breath away!! As we made our way back to Alice Springs our final stop off was at a camel farm where we all had a go at riding camels which was pretty funny. With a couple of days left in Alice we went out with our group for one last drink with them and then me and Ian tasted the delights of kangaroo, croc, buffallo and camel!! Tasty!!!! Our next stop is Monkey Mia to see more dolphins and then down to Perth to meet up with Joey!
