Ian & Claire's Adventure
We were supposed to head south to the national parks but decided the long drives were too much it was supposed to be a nice trip so we headed back north.
We went to Bussleton and checked into a nice campsite and pottered around and went to the beach for a swim and went into town to book a dive trip for the next day on the famous 2km long jetty we'd been told about by our digeridoo teacher.
The next day we turned up at the dive shop, unfortunately we had to wait for ages, but we chatted to Rick who lived in Tokyo, we were gutted we had to skip that bit of the trip, sounds fantastic. Finally we got on the boat, it was only an 8m dive so we had 50mins. It was suprisingly good. There were loads of fish, a couple of octopus, a cuttlefish, some really nice corals, nudi branches the size of huge slugs in bright orange colours. There was also huge schools of yello tails that let you nearly touch them. l;ots of large boxfish and some huge snappers. When we went past the observatory me and Ian did our usual trick of doing summersaults and then applauding eachother. WEe throught we would entertain the onlookers, All good fun!.
We got up the next morning really early and drove to Bunbury where we were toild we'd be able to stand just off the beach and see dolphins swimming in. We got there at 9am and there was one dolphin in but by the time we got our swimming stuff on it had gone, we promised to get up extra early the morning after.
We spent some of the day at the docs trying to get my throat sortesd. It had turned from a sore throat to agony and hugely swollen glands overnight. We spent ey rest of the day by the pool and walking down at the beach. The doc turned out to be really good and sent me away with antibioticvs, pain killers and more for india.
Ian ripped off the big dish arial on the van at a supermarket so we spent a while trying to fix that, luckily we had paid for 0% excess.
In the morning we managed to see two dolphins up fairly close which was a great start to a terrible day. We drove for about 5 hours back to Perth only to find that due to the stupid system at Britz car hire, we were a day late. After many hours of shouting and arguing and getting very stressed we left the place $109 worse off and feeling like we were yet again being shafted on this trip. WHY us?
My throat is getting worse by the day, It hurts to talk, whisper even, certainly to swallow and the whole right side of my head is swollen. I'm feeling very sorry for myself and worried my more than useless immune system wont last 2 mins in india.
KEVIN WHERE ARE YOU? trying to call over and over, one day before you leave perth and you 're not answering your mobile phone.
