Hello folks We arrived safe and sound at 3am afetr spending 42 hours in airports and flying from Cuzco to Lima and then Lima to Los Angeles (where our flight was cancelled) and then finally to Anchorage. During our stop in Los Angeles we decided to do a spot of shopping. We headed to the nearest Mall and treated ourselves to an ipod travel stereo and a decent proffessional camera. All cheap as chips over here. We've been staying out of town in the 'burbs' in a house with bunks and our private room. The kind of place where no-one locks their doors. Nice but wierd having come from south america. We bumped into Mark last night, so we had some great (large portions of) food and a couple of beers before we realised it was 11pm and the sun hadn't set yet. Even more bizarre was that the sun was up again at 4am. Very strange. Before we met Mark we spent the day in Downtown anchorage at the saturday market and just wandering. Its a beautiful sunny place with a great friendly feel to it. We're not quite sure what the plan is yet, just finding time to chill out and enjoy it a bit. We move to the downtown hostel tonight as our other place was in the sticks. We've bought some camping stove stuff and some new trousers for me (c) as the others have worn out.......6 weeks, lot of walking (fair amount of weight lost too thank god) We're in Marks hotel room using one of the other RAF boys' laptop, internet cafe's dont seem to exist here. end of installment 1. x
