I am now officially rather old and can no longer boast to be in my 20's so here's to my 30's. Yesterday was a fabulous way to spend a birthday. We were up early for a surprise trip to The Vineyard Hotel in Claremont for a wonderful breakfast and a walk in the gardens. James then left me being pampered in the Spa. Back in the centre of town we moved to the Penthouse airstream trailer park and to accommodation for the night in 'Dorothy' and entirely polka dotted posh caravan on the roof of the Grand Daddy Hotel. Nothing like moving up in the world to a caravan park by the time your 30!
We then went for a walk down to the V&A Waterfront where we had planned to get on a ferry over to Robin Island but unfortunately it was fully booked so instead we sat in a Pauliner brewery where James enjoyed a stein of beer and ate biltong. I have a sneaky suspicion that James had planned that slight deviation in the days plan as he was in heaven.
We later supped champagne on the roof top of the hotel where we looked out onto the spectacular views of the skyline and Table Mountain and followed this with a delicious dinner at a the Green Dolphin, serenaded by the live Jazz band. All rounded off nicely with a birthday chocolate and a rendition of happy birthday by the band. It was a wonderful 30th birthday.
