Well let's get started, I woke up at 8 am and went out on our bedroom balcony which is a roof top terrace six stories up, There, not a mile away, is the acropolis perched in all it's glory. Amazing view.
I wander to the main floor of our apartment and out onto our second balcony which also looks out onto the acropolis . This place we found through airbnb is incredible and affordable all at once. It's "INFORDABLE"!!!! Get it? I put both words together for you slow family members reading this blog.
Wanting to make periwinkle pleased, I went for a walk to the local super market, purchased some beef kabobs, veggies, spaghetti, sauce and wine as I thought "let's make dinner tonight." I then went back and realized "damn, I forgot the muffins", which is why I actually went to the market. Damn, those tasty little kabobs, knowing how good they are going to taste, threw me off track.
Periwinkle woke up at the crack of ten because she missed me (or the tv was too loud) and we had coffee on the deck.
We discussed the day and we are both pooped so periwinkle then did load after load of laundry, and she had a great afternoon.
The wifi at all our B n B's and most restaurants have been crazy good. We FaceTime the girls everyday and talk to "wee man" who is one happy little man.
I made supper for the bride, and then off to the market for fruit (forgot that too) and pastries. But as we turned the corner, a beam of light cast down from Poseidon's trident, we were directed to a little pastry shop. Some quick selections by myself, some smiles and compliments, and the shop owner fills a bag of pastries for Dominique. In essence, everything she inquired about he put in multiples. When we went to pay, he would only charge 5 euros. We bickered back and forth about the tip but he would not accept any money. I promised to see him in the morning for coffee, so I guess I'll have to. By the way, he had a T-shirt on that said hockey Canada and mentioned Toronto. A friendship was born.
So back at our place, sitting on our balcony and the acropolis is lit up amazingly.
Tomorrow the plan is to walk to the acropolis, the museum and numerous other exhibits, which are 26 minutes away. We'll spend the day there and then go out for a nice supper or maybe finish off the leftover kabobs. Who am I kidding? the delicious little treats won't make it past breakfast
Take care
