It's official; Langkawi is a hot smokin' island of Malay love. We arrived on Pulau Langkawi this morning after succeeding in two things:
1. Finding the worst thing that Howie has ever eaten.
2. Sourcing a Starbucks.
It's a lovely 32 degrees here and the Sunset Beach Resort (which is where we're staying) is lovely. It's on a fairly quiet beach but is right next to the 'hoppin'' beach so we have close access to lots of lovely places to eat. As we're over on the west side of the island, the sunset was beautiful this evening, although slightly marred by cloud. We sat and watched it from the sun loungers on our resort's own little bit of beach. Lovely.
Went to a Lonely Planet recommended place for dinner, 'Tomato', which was probably the only place on the island that was busy; I had some noodles that seemed harmless enough but were actually the spiciest, most chilli-laden noodles on the planet. We also had some delicious tandoori chicken and some roti, all for the grand price of about 5 Euro for the both of us.
Really enjoying it here on Langkawi and we still have another four blissful days before we have to get on another plane, so we're going to make the most of it.
