Not in a million years did I think when I woke up this morning that I would spend the afternoon in the company of wild monkeys. Malaysia is full of surprises. We hired a scooter this morning, and howie being howie walked into the office and said 'we want the fastest one you've got'. Me being me, I asked howie to take it on a test drive first to get used to it. He came back up the road pushing the scooter and concealing a bloody graze on his arm and a scuffed foo...

I think we just lost 48 hours there. So easy to do in Langkawi... It's such a relaxed kind of place and I am currently doing that rare thing of enjoying a beach holiday with no activities or excursions planned, just the lovely beach and a marvellous book. Saying that, we've been eyeing up the scooters and reckon we might hire one tomorrow so our relaxing break could well turn into a blood smeared knee massacre... We'll see. Until then, I've only had one ice cream...

It's official; Langkawi is a hot smokin' island of Malay love. We arrived on Pulau Langkawi this morning after succeeding in two things: 1. Finding the worst thing that Howie has ever eaten.2. Sourcing a Starbucks. It's a lovely 32 degrees here and the Sunset Beach Resort (which is where we're staying) is lovely.
