AND WE'RE OFF!!!!! Day 1! We met at the Greyhound station in Norman. I got there at six and was able to have plenty of time to check in money, paperwork, and medications. We took a few take off pictures and hung around. The bus was supposed to be there at 6:50 am, but it showed up at 7:30 instead. Already starting to reconsider DFW for next year. By the time we boarded, got bags loaded and got on the bus, it left Norman at 7:50...... an hour late... The kids are all happy and ready to go and I hope we don't have anymore delays. Fortunately, the DART runs on time!!!!The DART train took us directly to the airport in Dallas. We got off the train and onto a Terminal Link bus to get us to Terminal E. FINALLY, we arrived at the U.S. Airways desk, got our baggage checked, through TSA and into the airport with 45 minutes to spare! I sent everyone to get some lunch…there was a Wendy's and an UNO's pizza that most of the kids took advantage of. We boarded the plane and we were off! With a quick stop in Charlotte and dinner at the Charlotte airport, we left for Boston. We arrived in Logan Airport, got our baggage, met Marianne, our Tour Director (TD), Mike the bus driver, and got on our Mercedes coach! After 16 hours of traveling, we headed directly to the hotel. The Fairfield Inn Marriott in Dedham was where we laid our heads for the next couple of days. We checked in and the hotel had our rooms all messed up. I had boys on the first floor, girls on the third floor and I was on the opposite end of the hotel on the third floor. We at least got the boys changed to the same floor as all of the kids, but they couldn't change my room to be closer. I was very candid with the security guards about making sure they kids were quiet and in their rooms. So, ends the first day.
